Hello! I can't believe we are well into October! The days drag, but the weeks fly! Have you ever felt that way?
Dennis had his last treatment on October 4th which completed 2 full rounds of treatment. We were hoping for him to be able to accomplish that (2 full rounds= 4 treatements). He has a CT tomorrow to check to see if the treatments are helping. They should be measuring the tumors and see if the lesions on his liver are shrinking. We'll get the results next Wednesday, October 18th.
As good as Dennis was feeling on the last entry, he has not felt well at all after his October 4th treatment. He has been wearing a fentanyl patch for pain this last month. It has worked pretty well. We do have some morphine for breakthrough pain and we've had to use it 2-3 times in the last week. That in itself has been a little discouraging. He has also been running intermittent fevers, is very fatigued and nauseated. The fevers, fatigue, and nausea are typical side effects of the chemo.
Dennis and I are planning to go up to Bishop next Friday and spend the week-end. He of course is bringing his fishing pole! We'll make some little day trips to the lakes in the area. We are really looking forward to getting away and breathing some mountain air.
We've had some company lately. My friend Monica, from Santa Barbara, came last weekend. She and I went to a local antique show on Saturday. She had only driven past Paso Robles over the years and was pleasantly surprised to see what a lovely community we live in. My brother Andre' is visiting right now from Denver. He has a class reunion on Saturday. He's always a lot of fun to be with.
I will post again next week after Dennis meets with the doctor on Wednesday. Until then, please continue to keep him and our family in your prayers. Thank you all for your cards, calls, texts and emails. They are appreciated so much!
Blessings to All,
Sharon and Dennis
