We met with Dr Hayashi, yesterday. He is such a nice man and lives up to his reputation. We feel like Dennis has the best care.😊 After we left his office, he called Dennis with a couple more questions. He could have had his nurse call, but, he called and that meant a lot to us.
Dr Hayashi explained that the location of the tumor is at the confluence of the left and right hepatic duct leaving the liver. Because of it's location, Dennis is being referred to UCSF, where they have the best equipment for a complicated surgery. The hepatic duct isn't very long and they will have to remove the tumor and resect the duct. Our specific prayer is that the tumor doesn't reach into the liver, which complicates the surgery even more.
Dennis will need to have another specialized CT before we head up north. The CT will have different views and exact location of the tumor. Of course we also have to wait on insurance to approve everything.
Still no news on the pathology. But, no matter the result of that, he will still have surgery to unblock that area.
'Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us, Selah' Psalm 62:8
Blessings to all and thank you for prayers.
Sharon and Dennis
