Dennis is feeling much better after finishing up his antibiotics. He had his appointment with Dr Spillane the oncologist, July 3rd. Even though Dennis's labs all looked good, he opted to forego his chemo. He doesn't want to lower his immune system again, this close to his surgery date. The doctor agreed and that made Dennis feel good about his decision.
David, Bailey, and Lincoln arrived last week and left on the 4th. It's been a blessing getting to know Lincoln. We've had a great time with him. On Saturday, July 2nd, we had both sides of our family get together at Atascadero Lake Park. It was nice for our families to meet Lincoln and for Dennis to get out and see everyone. Even though it was outside, Dennis was very cautious and stayed masked to keep himself safe.
Later that afternoon, Chris, Chelcy and all the kids came to Elizabeth's. We had all of our grandchildren together, except Ashtyn. (She and her mom, Ashley, were out of town) It was nice for Lincoln to meet his many cousins. The picture is of all the grandchildren except Nathaniel, who was napping and Ashtyn. Dennis was starting to not feel great so we snapped a few photos and got who we could in the picture. They are a great bunch of kids and we're so thankful for each and everyone of them!
The next couple of weeks Dennis has various pre-op appointments; blood work, xray, CT, ekg, teleconference with the anestheiologist, and the surgeon.
His surgery is on July 20th. We'll head up to San Francisco on the 19th. Dennis has to check in at the hospital between 5:30-6:00 am. The surgery is supposed to start at 7:30. My sister, Michelle, is going with us on the 19th. Dennis's mom, brother Tim, and sister-in-law, Kristi, will come up the morning of surgery.
We continue to ask for your prayers that Dennis stays well, his pain and discomfort stays to a minimum, and nothing hinders his surgery.
Thank you all again for your continued love and support. It means so much to us!
'Be strong and courageus. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. ' Joshua 1:9
