Dennis got his confirmation for his telemedicine appointment this coming Wednesday, April 19th with UCSF Cancer and Oncology Gastroenterology office. We still don't know for certain this is cancer, but, again we've been told 'it most likely is'. It was quite overwhelming to see the title of the office who will be in charge of his care. We read about the doctor that his appointment is with, Dr Carlos Corvera. He is the chief of the Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgery Program at UCSF. That's reassuring! It is a teaching facility, so we'll see if that is who the appointment is with, or someone else. Either way, they have such a good reputation, we know Dennis is in good hands.
We haven't heard from the local surgeon, Dr Hayashi. His office called last Monday and said he got a cold last week-end and had laryngitis. So, we are assuming he was still sick and that's why we didn't hear from him.
Dennis has not felt well this last week. In fact, he started having symptoms of the jaundice returning. He got itchy and his eyes started to get a little yellow as well as his skin. He notified his PCP on Friday morning. She ordered some blood work, which he did. He has an appointment with her on Monday to review the lab tests. His eyes look better today. We're wondering if there was a little back up that has worked itself out. Just not sure if it will happen again.
Well, that's it for now. I will update after the appointment with UCSF.
Have a blessed day!
Sharon and Dennis
